Uyghur Ethno-Rock Band

The band’s name has not yet been determined and will be finalized upon finding a sponsor and partner.

The Uyghur ethno-rock band performs traditional folk songs and melodies of the Uyghur people.

The instruments will be electrified.

Below are examples of traditional Uyghur musical instruments:

Dutar

A two-stringed plucked lute with a long neck. It is very common in traditional Uyghur music and is used for accompanying songs, dances, and solo performances.

Rawap

A plucked string instrument related to the rubab, featuring a skin-covered resonator and often decorated with ornamental horns above the body. It may have 3 to 9 strings, some of which produce resonant sounds.

Satar

A bowed lute used, for example, at the beginning of performances of the classical Uyghur musical cycle known as Muqam. It has one main melodic string and many sympathetic strings that vibrate in response to the sound.

Tambur

A long-necked plucked instrument with five strings.

Khushtar

A four-string bowed instrument.
